The 13th Croatian Camping Congress was an opportunity for us to deepen the knowledge of Adriano Palman, the young and enterprising President of the Croatian Camping Association, who answered our questions with such passion and made us get in touch more with this entity and with its work.

For how long have you been the director of the Croatian Camping Association and what are your goals?
My professional career in the Croatian Camping Federation - FCC started more than ten years ago, in 2007. Since then we have come a long way. The number of member campsites has more than doubled and today we cover 93% of the accommodation capacity of the camping sector in Croatia and we are the most important sector association with close partnerships with all national sector institutions, from ministries to corporations for tourism and promotion. We also have activated a large number of new projects, which include: offline promotion with fairs and brochures; the online promotion, where we own the most important camping website in Croatia, wwww.camping.hr;   education at universities with study visits, etc.; help to open new campsites, especially in the Croatian hinterland; the promotion of campsites that are open all year round. What’s more, in 2007 we organized the first edition of the Croatian Camping Congress, which this year has reached its 13th edition!

What are the feedbacks from this 13th congress?
The congress has become the most important meeting point for Croatian camping stakeholders, both for private and public ones. We are very happy with the number of participants, which were around 450 this year. Practically, all national campsites are present, together with representatives of the Ministry of tourism, associations for tourism promotion, chambers of commerce, sector experts and personalities. A very important peculiarity of our congress is the simultaneous translation in English of all the interventions. This has allowed us to see the number of international participants grow more and more year by year - for example, from Italy Golden Camping, Village4All, Genial (Camping.it) and Vacanze col cuore; from Germany ADAC with Pincamp and Ecocamping, from Holland ACSI, ANWB, Vacanceselect, Campingnavigator, from England Pitchup, from Slovenia Avtokampi.si, Avtomedia Slovenia, from Austria IGL Werbediendst and KG Media, and not only. Second significant feature of our congress is that, in addition to the part dedicated to congresses, which includes presentations and round tables, we also have a special part dedicated to producers, that is the external exhibition part: a really important aspect, as there are no specialized camping fairs in Croatia. To do this we have established a very close collaboration with all the Croatian and international leading manufacturers of mobile homes and glamping structures, who come to reveal their previews at the fair. Among them stand out names such as the Italian Crippaconcept and CR Abitare, Adria (Slovenia), LuxeTenten (Netherlands), Nord Mobil (Croatia). Much of the exhibition space is also used for the presentation of various camping equipment and solutions: from software to health services.
