The Croatian Arena Hospitality Group, which operates 8 campsites in Istria, received the WTM Responsible Tourism Awards in the Neighbors and Employees category. The recognition came on the occasion of the first exclusively digital edition of the World Travel Market, an event that for the first time in its history was held with just virtually.
Arena Hospitality Group is one of the organizations around the world that this year received recognition for demonstrating responsibility in managing tourism during the pandemic. The Responsible Tourism Partnership of WTM emphasizes that the goal was to reward those who have taken on the responsibility of facing the numerous challenges related to the pandemic in a positive and constructive way.
The company received recognition in the Neighbors and Employees category for its activities towards the local community and health system. In the months of March, April and May, immediately after the outbreak of the crisis, Arena Hospitality Group co-financed the purchase of disinfectant and donated televisions for the patients of the General Hospital in Pula, prepared over 100 lunch packs a day for more than two months for local hospital staff and assisted in the preparation and cleaning of new hospital spaces.
