Open air tourism is experiencing a moment of great interest and this could be the right year to lay the foundations for unexpected development. Assocamping Confesercenti and the Unione Club Amici (UCA) have thus decided to enter into an agreement aimed at promoting ‘en plein air’ tourism, a real alliance between businesses and travelers.

In the press release which was published by the two organizations, it is specified that the agreement “has the specific objective of operating jointly with a view to greater collaboration for the development of ‘open air’ tourism, with the main aim of bringing together motorhome owners and campsites, evaluating what are the possible synergies between accommodation facilities and users”.

The ‘en plein air’ tourism is an added value of the Italian tourism supply chain,” commented Monica Saielli, president of Assocamping. “Outdoor accommodation facilities are comparable to large parks, where the incidence of closed volumes is minimal compared to the surface of the structure. A form of tourism that must be encouraged and supported. So, welcome this agreement, which will allow us to create important synergies to better meet the tourists’ needs”.

Imagining to manage our associations without exploiting their synergies,” said Ivan Perriera, president of UCA, “would mean not understanding the need to find a compromise between the needs of campers, who in recent years have diversified with the increase of motorhomes to the detriment of caravans, and those of campsites that must also adapt the internal spaces that, once, were intended for ‘seasonal tourists’ who lived campsites mainly with caravans”.

The agreement provides for discounts on campsites participating in the initiative, with significant reductions in the rates of stay and/or the provision of included services, and the promotion of the UCA Camperstop project.
