The CMT 2020 tourism and leisure exhibition in Stuttgart, Germany (11 to 19 January, 2020) achieved a record number of around 300,000 visitors, and 2161 exhibitors.
“We are happy with about 300,000 visitors, our exhibition center and a total of 2161 exhibitors during the nine days of the fair. An absolute record!” said Roland Bleinroth, managing director Messe Stuttgart, at the end of CMT 2020.
Guido von Vacano, member of the management, added: “The CMT 2020 was great and has developed. We have expanded our offer, the profile of the areas for tourism and caravanning were further sharpened and thus our visitors were enthusiastic. ”
Another factor for success: the clearly expanded program attracted 33,000 trade visitors to Stuttgart. The new “CMT business” platform included events such as: Destination Germany Day and a Travel Market.
The economic upswing from the strong previous year encouraged more of the caravanning industry to come to the CMT 2020 who see it as a barometer for the motorhome and caravan industry.
“The CMT is proving to be ‘a magnet’ for Industry representatives from across Europe,” said Holger Siebert, Vice President and Board member for public relations at the Caravanning Industry Association CIVD.
The CMT was economically “a success”, according to Oliver Waidelich, managing director of the German Caravanning Trade Association DCHV, who said: “At the fair there was a good buying interest noticeable, which radiated to the commercial agencies. The CMT confirms that this hope for the future is justified. The fair was a great win for everyone Involved! “
According to a survey of visitors to CMT 2020, 92 percent of them say they want to visit the fair again in 2021, and 96 percent also want to recommend it to friends and relatives. On average, the visitors stayed just under five
hours at the CMT. More than a quarter of visitors traveled over 100 km to Stuttgart. The mobile home parking space and the additional ones were also very popular with a record number of 8,000 vehicles staying overnight.
