Yesterday afternoon a videoconference meeting was held between the Italian ministers of labor and culture and the associations Faita, Federalberghi, Fiavet and Fipe. The occasion spoke of the proposals that had been made to the government to overcome the difficulties linked to the pandemic, many of which, at the proposal level, were accepted. The four associations therefore expressed satisfaction with the meeting.
The four associations, which are part of Confturismo and adhere to Confcommercio-Imprese per l’Italia, then issued a joint note: “Faita (campsites and tourist villages), Federalberghi (tourist accommodation businesses),Fiavet (travel agencies) and Fipe (public exercises) express appreciation for the proposals that emerged at the discussion table that was held by videoconference this afternoon with the Labor and Social Policy Minister Nunzia Catalfo and theMinister for Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism Dario Franceschini for having accepted most of the proposals which the parties had shared in a joint notice signed with Filcams-CGIL, Fisascat-CISL and Uiltucs-Uil on July 14th”.
“In underlining the continuing difficulties of the tourism sector with decreases in turnover and consequent reductions in employment,” continues the note, “they shared the proposal to extend the Covid 19 shock absorbers for a further 18 weeks with the request to be able to use the tool continuously with the previous periods and with greater flexibility on the timing of its use. Faita, Federalberghi, Fiavet and Fipe also expressed a favorable opinion also on the alternative measures of decontribution for those who call back or have already called their suspended workers back to service, with the specification that the incentive concerns not only the companies that have completely suspended the activities, but also those that have partially reduced it, and that also affects temporary and seasonal workers.”
“The occasion of the meeting,” concludes the note, “was useful to clarify the need to modify the provisions of the ‘Relaunch’ decree on the ‘forced’ extension of forward contracts, reducing their contribution charges for companies as well as for to urge the Government to consider, even if linked to the extraordinary nature of the emergency, the reintroduction of the voucher institution”.
