19th Croatian Camping Congress: from October 27, three days of dialogue to build the future of the sector

From October 27 to 29, 2025, the Dalmatian city of Šibenik will host the 19th Croatian Camping Congress, organized by the Croatian Camping Union (KUH). The program, rich with conferences, round tables, and networking opportunities, confirms the Congress’s role as the main platform for discussion, growth, and innovation in the sector. Topics at the heart of the debates will include sustainability, digitalization, resource management, and new trends in outdoor hospitality, with contributions from international experts and institutional representatives.

Camping Business, official media partner of the event, will closely follow the proceedings of the Congress, reporting on the latest news, ideas, and projects shaping the future of open-air tourism, from development strategies aimed at increasing the sector’s overall competitiveness to technological solutions and new market challenges. It will be three intense days of dialogue, inspiration, and best practices, bringing together experts, businesses, and institutions to jointly build the future of outdoor tourism.

Results of the 2025 season and future trends

October 27, the opening day of the 19th Croatian Camping Congress, will be dedicated to the internal meeting of the KUH Board of Directors and the associations general assembly, attended by official members. The Congress will fully commence on October 28 with the institutional addresses from Tonči Glavina, Croatian Minister of Tourism and Sport, Kristjan Staničić, Director of the Croatian National Tourist Board, and Veljko Ostojić, President of the KUH Board of Directors. A round table on the current state of the camping sector will follow, focusing on the 2025 season, preparations for 2026, and the regulatory framework for Croatian tourism.

In the afternoon, an overview of camping results and trends across the Mediterranean and various European countries will introduce the round table Camping 2025+: Are We Recognizing the Real Market Changes?”, organized in collaboration with Adria. Among the international speakers will be Riccardo Giommaroni from La Rocca Camping (Italy), presenting the Italian perspective on the evolution of open-air tourism demand.

Two additional discussions will explore camping in China – potential, trends, and challenges and Climate Friendly Camp – a business model as a green compass for campsites. Later, Gianfranco Vitali from Florenz Open Air Resort will present the case of Camping Florenz, the first European campsite awarded in 2023 by ADAC for accessibility, a model of inclusion and innovation that has made the facility a continental benchmark.

Italy will also take center stage with Cristiano Bozzetti (Crippaconcept) and Višen Slamar (Tissa), who will address the theme From accommodation to experience: the role of mobile homes”. The session will reflect on the evolution of design and the strategic role of mobile homes in enhancing guest experiences and boosting competitiveness.

Innovation, technology, and sustainability

The third day, Wednesday, October 29, will focus on new perspectives and best practices in open-air tourism. The day will begin with Lucija Kačan of Aminess Hotels & Resorts, presenting the modernization project of Aminess Style Camping Atea Resort, one of the oldest campsites on the island of Krk, currently transforming into a five-star destination.

Next, Višen Slamar (Tissa & Partners) will offer insights in the session Campsites of the future: new ideas, new trends, new experiences”, followed by Boris Vukić (Zaton Holiday Resort), who will discuss Creating an excellence pool complex”, a project designed to raise the standard of tourist offerings. One of the most anticipated topics will be Artificial Intelligence applied to camping, presented by Goran Mrvoš (Infosit) in a session titled How artificial intelligence can solve real problems in camping”, exploring how generative AI and intelligent systems can optimize communication, resources, and services.

A technical session on Fiscalization 2.0 will follow, focusing on new obligations regarding e-invoicing and the digitalization of transactions, with practical guidance for operators. The morning will conclude with the presentation of the student project Master of Sustainable Outdoor Hospitality Management and the award ceremony for the industry’s most prestigious recognitions: Naj Kamp Adria 2025 and Croatias Best Campsites & OK Mini Camps 2026.
