A new chapter opens in the journey towards sustainable growth in the outdoor tourism sector. Tecla Pacchiani, entrepreneur and CEO of Pacchiani Holz, has been appointed to the Executive Board of Assolegno – the Italian wood industry branch of FederlegnoArredo, representing Italy’s primary wood processing and manufacturing companies. She has been entrusted with a strategic portfolio: Tourism and the Environment.
Her appointment comes at a pivotal time, as campsite operators, holiday villages, and open-air hospitality providers face increasing demand for eco-friendly, landscape-integrated, and sustainably built solutions. These are precisely the areas at the heart of Tecla Pacchiani’s mission, with a clear focus on reinforcing the role of timber as a key material in sustainable tourism infrastructure.
Pacchiani Holz: sustainability and quality at its core
Rooted in a long-standing family tradition in the timber sector, Pacchiani Holz has become a benchmark for the design and manufacture of wooden structures and components for construction and outdoor furnishings. The company stands out for its industrial vision that blends technological innovation, craftsmanship, and environmental responsibility. Certified production processes and the use of responsibly sourced timber from sustainably managed forests are central to its ethos.
One of Pacchiani Holz’s primary markets is the outdoor hospitality sector, where the company provides high-value, custom-built solutions tailored to meet both aesthetic needs and the environmental challenges of natural settings.
Assolegno’s role and a vision for the future
Assolegno represents over 400 Italian companies within the wood supply chain, promoting a culture of quality and sustainability while supporting regulatory and technological development across the industry. Tecla Pacchiani’s entry into the Executive Board, with a specific remit for Tourism and the Environment, marks a renewed commitment to a credible and practical ecological transition – placing wood at the centre of new strategies for tourism-related construction.
In her new role, Pacchiani aims to champion timber as a premium material for open-air tourism, encouraging its adoption in hospitality structures through the promotion of best practices in sustainable design and construction. Her vision also includes advancing technological innovation and addressing the environmental footprint across the entire lifecycle of timber products.
