The inaugural edition of the Best Camping Village Awards, organised by Teamwork in collaboration with Hospitality – Il Salone dell’Accoglienza, celebrated Italy’s open-air hospitality excellence on Tuesday, 4 February 2026, in Riva del Garda. The ceremony, held within the context of the 50th edition of Hospitality, recognised tourist facilities – campsites, glamping sites, and camping villages – that stood out for service quality, innovation, sustainability, accessibility, and the ability to create memorable guest experiences.

The awards were presented by a panel of industry experts, with cross-disciplinary expertise spanning tourism economics and management, design, and strategic consulting. The jury evaluated not only the excellence of the facilities but also the impact of their organisational and design choices on the overall guest experience.

The awards ceremony was introduced by Mauro Santinato, President of Teamwork, and hosted by Nicola Delvecchio, Teamwork Consultant and Trainer, and Alessandra Albarelli, General Director of Riva del Garda Fierecongressi. Here is the list of winners from the first edition.

Best sports and outdoor offer

Winner: Centro Vacanze Pra’ delle Torri – Caorle (VE)

The jury recognised the facility for its extensive and high-quality range of sports and outdoor activities, which highlight the surrounding area and allow guests to enjoy an active holiday. The award emphasises how the integration of structured sports offerings serves as a differentiating factor, meeting the expectations of an increasingly experience-oriented audience seeking dynamic engagement and connection with the territory.

Best accessible hospitality

Winner: Florenz Open Air Resort – Comacchio (FE)

The award for accessible hospitality went to the facility that, through a journey started over twenty years ago, has successfully made the holiday fully accessible for people with disabilities or specific needs. From the stage, Gianfranco Vitali described this initiative as “the most beautiful entrepreneurial project in my family”, highlighting that accessibility, autonomy, and comfort enrich the guest experience and allow everyone to enjoy a normal and fulfilling holiday. This recognition reflects a vision of inclusive hospitality that goes beyond mere regulatory compliance to embrace a culture of genuine welcome.

Best relaxation & wellness experience

Winner: Camping Vidor – Family & Wellness Resort – San Giovanni di Fassa (TN)

Camping Vidor was selected for its ability to create authentic wellness experiences for guests, combining dedicated self-care spaces with services that promote balance, regeneration, and relaxation. In her acceptance speech, Christine Pezzei emphasised that wellness is conceived as an integral part of the holiday experience, with services and environments supporting physical and mental rejuvenation rather than simply luxury spaces for their own sake.

Best welcome and service

Winner: Camping Europa Silvella – San Felice del Benaco (BS)

For the category dedicated to hospitality and service quality, the jury awarded Camping Europa Silvella for its excellence in guest relations and its ability to personalise the holiday experience. The acceptance speech highlighted the value of teamwork and the staff’s capacity to convey hospitality empathetically and professionally, factors considered crucial in creating a welcoming and family-friendly environment.

Winner: Union Lido Mare – Cavallino-Treporti (VE)

The entertainment award went to Union Lido Mare for the breadth and quality of its activity programme, which combines social moments, shows, children’s activities, themed events, and entertainment for all age groups. The ceremony underlined how a comprehensive entertainment programme is key to enhancing the guest holiday experience and fostering quality social interactions, contributing to a richer and more engaging overall stay.

Best sustainability programme

Winner: Don Antonio Glamping Village – Giulianova (TE)

The sustainability award was presented to Don Antonio Glamping Village in recognition of a conscious and tangible approach to daily environmental choices – from resource management to guest awareness – demonstrating a genuine commitment to sustainability. In thanking the jury, the facility’s representative emphasised the role of staff and guests in enabling sustainable initiatives and highlighted the importance of a shared approach within the open-air community.

Best glamping experience

Winner: La Rocca Camping Village – Bardolino (VR)

The category recognising facilities that interpret glamping as a unique stay experience went to La Rocca Camping Village for its ability to combine design-led accommodation immersed in nature with high-level services, creating an offering aimed at a sensory, comfortable, and distinctive holiday. During the award presentation, Orsola Rizzardi highlighted the importance of innovative projects in which accommodations and outdoor spaces interact with the landscape, fostering memorable aesthetic and relational experiences.

Best services, common areas and spaces

Winner: Marina di Venezia Camping Village – Cavallino-Treporti (VE)

Finally, the award for services, common areas, and shared spaces went to Marina di Venezia Camping Village for the quality, functionality, and perceived value of its communal areas, which are central to overall guest satisfaction. The jury positively noted how the design of spaces and services contributes to creating welcoming, dynamic environments aligned with the identity of an open-air holiday.

The next steps in the sector

The closing remarks of the awards event were delivered by Alberto Granzotto, President of FAITA Federcamping, and Fabio Poletti, President of FAITA Trentino, who were asked about the next significant steps for the sector.

Our sector is full of excellence and has enormous potential, both in Italy and across Europe, yet it is often undervalued,” said Granzotto. “As an association, we promote sustainability, data collection, and practical projects to help all colleagues develop. The challenge now is to communicate ever more effectively the efficiency and quality of our facilities, because sharing experiences and knowledge benefits us all”.

I see a sector that is vibrant and eager to grow, thanks to the investments made and the data that reassure us but also push us to do better, added Poletti. “This award is an important milestone that provides visibility and motivation for everyone, including those not present tonight, and reminds us that our mantra must be quality, both real and perceived. The customer is informed, and their choices must be respected seriously. Thanks to Granzotto’s work, the association has given national visibility to the sector, and we are also committed locally, aware that the path to growth is in our hands”.

The first edition of the Best Camping Village Awards concludes with a diverse panorama of Italian excellence, each interpreting in its own way the values of hospitality, innovation, accessibility, sustainability, and quality of experience. Beyond recognising tangible results, the initiative highlighted the open-air sector’s ability to evolve towards increasingly sophisticated models focused on guest satisfaction.
