Less than two months before the official opening, the programme of the second edition of the Catalonia Campsite Congress is taking detailed shape, scheduled for 15, 16 and 17 April 2026. The event will be hosted at Castell de Ciutat, in La Seu d’Urgell (Lleida), a prestigious setting for an appointment highly anticipated by professionals from the tourism and Catalan camping sector.
The Catalan Campsite Federation, organiser of the initiative, has chosen as its guiding theme the motto “The future of Catalan campsites: smart safety, prevention and risk management”, underlining how central safety issues are to the development and competitiveness of the sector. The aim is to strengthen Catalonia’s positioning as a leading destination in southern Europe.
Programme and sector Gala
The core of the congress will be the days of 16 and 17 April, featuring a rich programme of conferences, round tables and institutional speeches. Sector experts, representatives of the public administration and security professionals will discuss the main risks to which campsites are exposed, from the prevention of natural phenomena to the application of innovative technologies for smart safety.
On 16 April, topics will include meteorological radars as essential tools for the prevention of flooding and the key aspects of fire prevention. The programme also includes two sessions dedicated to the Life Tour4Clima project and the “Fet al Parc” project, the latter presented by Marc Vilahur, Director General for Environmental Policies and the Natural Environment.
The evening will be dedicated to the eagerly awaited Catalan Campsites Gala, during which personalities and organisations that have distinguished themselves for their contribution to the development and modernisation of camping in Catalonia will be honoured.
The closing day, 17 April, will instead be entirely devoted to discussion, with four round tables on strategic topics: successful cases in risk management in the sector; artificial intelligence and technology in the service of tourism safety; a pilot project to improve risk management in Catalan campsites, as an example of public-private collaboration; and finally crisis communication management, with a focus on coordination, transparency and trust.
