Lisbon will host the first edition of The Glamping Show European Forum, a new event dedicated to the glamping sector. A natural evolution of The Glamping Show – the leading international trade exhibition for outdoor hospitality and luxury camping organised by Swan Events – the format is condensed into a single day and will debut on 18 March in the Portuguese capital, with the support of Glamping Revolution, one of the country’s main manufacturers and suppliers of glamping structures.
For over ten years, Swan Events has supported the growth of the glamping sector through specialised events such as The Glamping Show UK and The Glamping Show Americas, and is also the founder of the Eco Resort Network, a platform dedicated to sustainability. Now comes the European Forum, designed as a more accessible and dynamic regional format: a touring event that will take place in a different country each year, offering training, market insights and networking opportunities directly to local operators.
Lisbon chosen for the first edition
The journey begins in Lisbon, selected as the inaugural location of The Glamping Show European Forum due to the dynamism of the Portuguese tourism market: the national industry recorded 77.1 million overnight stays and over 30 million guests in the last full year, while the camping sector alone counts around 2.1 million campers and 7.2 million overnight stays.
Thanks to its mild year-round climate, diverse landscapes, and growing international demand for sustainable tourism, Portugal has established itself as one of the fastest-growing European markets for boutique eco-lodges, glamping resorts and experiential stays. In short, Portugal is one of Europe’s most dynamic destinations, in a sector experiencing strong growth: the European glamping market is currently valued at approximately USD 1.28 billion (2024) and could reach USD 2.17 billion by 2030.
A format designed to provide practical and concrete tools
The seminars offered by The Glamping Show European Forum, free of charge and led by industry experts, will address key topics and major challenges facing the glamping sector, providing an in-depth analysis of market trends.
Unlike traditional conferences, the forum offers a practical and focused programme, based on the direct experience of those who have built, developed, and managed glamping businesses across Europe. The aim is to provide tangible tools to tackle real challenges such as tightening margins, rising guest expectations, and constantly changing regulations.
