Easter Week 2026 closes with excellent results for the camping sector in Spain, which recorded near-capacity figures across almost the entire country. Bungalows and glamping tents came close to 100% occupancy, while pitches also performed very well, reaching 80% of the available capacity.
Good weather was the key to this extraordinary result: mild temperatures and sunshine boosted both last-minute bookings and the arrival of campers in motorhomes, vans and campervans, confirming camping as one of the holiday formats most loved by Spaniards.
“We are very proud of travellers’ response. Having filled our bungalows and seeing the pitches at 80% shows that camping is no longer an alternative, but a first choice of quality. All our expectations have been met”, underlined Ana Beriain, president of the Spanish Camping Federation (FEEC).
Extending tourism beyond the peak season
The performance of the pitches was also very positive, supported by ideal weather conditions. As Sergio Chocarro, director of the Spanish Camping Federation, explained, it was precisely the favourable weather that proved decisive in bringing occupancy to levels close to sold out during the holiday period.
Attention is now turning to the coming months: the challenge for the sector is in fact to reduce seasonality in visitor flows and keep occupancy high also in April and May, taking advantage of Easter’s excellent momentum before the start of the summer season.
Thanks to the continuous modernisation of facilities and an increasingly rich range of services, the sector is in fact aiming to consolidate its role as a tourism and economic driver throughout the year, making a significant contribution to local economies across Spain.
