Today the 60th edition of the Düsseldorf Caravan Salon opened its doors, although only trade visitors can enter on this day. From tomorrow, August 28, until September 5, it will also be open to the public. Our editorial team will be at the Caravan Salon for a week, starting today. Anyone wishing to get in touch with us can write to direzione@fuorimedia.com or bona@fuorimedia.com.

The conditions for an eventful fair are good. Caravanning and nature tourism are finding more and more enthusiastic followers,” comments Erhard Wienkamp, Managing Director of Messe Düsseldorf, organizer of the fair together with CIVD (Caravaning Industrie Verband). “A visit to our trade fair offers the best opportunity to see all the vehicle innovations live and to find out about exciting destinations as well as the technical innovations in the accessories and equipment sector.”

At the Caravan Salon there are about 500 exhibitors on an area of over 200,000 square meters. In 13 pavilions and in the outdoor exhibition areas there is the widest selection, at European level, of caravans, motorhomes, vehicle technology, components, tents, mobile homes, accessories and camping equipment, outdoor clothing and equipment, tourist destinations, camping offers and sites.

“Motorhomes and caravans are emotional products. Potential customers want to see and touch the vehicles ‘live’, this cannot be done digitally. Real product presentations accelerate purchase decisions considerably, as the great success of Caravan Salon in recent years proves,” says Daniel Onggowinarso, Managing Director of CIVD. “Face-to-face events such as trade fairs are indispensable sales platforms and opportunities for staging brands and products. This is all the more true for a medium-sized industry like ours”.

The Caravan Salon celebrates its 60th birthday this year, but it is more active and lively than ever. The first fair was held in 1962 in Messe Essen and saw the presence of 34,500 visitors. The development over the years has been remarkable, so much so that 2019, a very successful year and the last edition before the limitations related to Covid-19, attracted over 270,000 traveling tourism enthusiasts. 645 exhibitors from 31 countries were present, occupying an area of approximately 214,000 square meters in 13 pavilions and open spaces.
