Campsites and camping businesses across Europe are being encouraged to enter the second-ever edition of the ACSI Innovation Awards. Aimed at recognising and celebrating pioneering ideas, sustainable solutions, and smart technology that advance the experiences of holidaymakers and campsite owners, the 2027 awards are open for entries from now until 31 December 2026. The winners, who will be judged by an expert jury panel, will be named in spring 2027.
The 2027 edition of the Innovation Awards have a few notable differences from the inaugural year: firstly, they are open to entries from companies across the whole of Europe instead of just the Benelux and Austria like last year; and secondly, they are open not only to just campsites, but any other businesses whose products or services are making a real impact on the camping industry.
There are four distinct categories within the awards:
- Guest experience and comfort, which covers anything that helps improve a guest’s stay – from smart apps, to integrated play areas with augmented reality.
- Sustainability, which covers any initiative that makes a campsite more environmentally friendly, such as green energy sources or more sustainable materials used in construction.
- Technology, which can be anything where technology elevates the camping experience, such as AI-driven reservation systems, smart sensors for energy use, or advanced check-in systems.
- Service and operations, which covers any advancement that helps make the running of the logistical and administrative side of a campsite easier, more efficient, and better for profitability.
Last year’s winners included Camping Ferienparadies Natterer See from Austria, which won for its excelusive Secret Koi Garden glamping concept; Camping De Lilse Bergen from Belgium, which was recognised for its excellent sustainability an aquathermal energy use; Marveld Recreatie from the Netherlands, for its Bommelwereld indoor theme park; Vakantiepark Eiland van Maurik from the Nethelrands, for its MAUK family entertainment centre; and Henk Pen Campers & Caravans from the Netherlands, which was chosen for its new premises offering a next generation camping experience.
The winners of the awards will benefit not only from simply the prestige of being selected by the jury but will also secure extra visibility for their business both online, in the ACSI app, and in the ACSI guidebook. This additional promotion is designed to help build trust with campers in the innovative idea that has been presented, which will ultimately help with its success in the market.
Interested parties can find out more about the awards and enter their submission at the ACSI website.
