Labour costs remain one of the most sensitive issues for businesses in the open-air tourism sector. Between seasonal contracts, complex shift patterns, constant regulatory changes and increasingly demanding bureaucracy, many operators tend to experience the payslip as a compulsory formality rather than as a useful tool for economic planning. To provide concrete support on this front, the Italian FAITA Federcamping is offering its members the webinar “Beyond the Payslip – Practical tools to better manage labour costs in tourism”, scheduled for Friday 21 November at 3.30 p.m.
The aim of the session is to provide a clear and practical overview of the main factors that affect staffing costs in open-air accommodation. It will explain in simple terms how the choice of contract can significantly influence the company budget, comparing fixed-term, seasonal, apprenticeship and internship contracts, with concrete examples of the situations in which each option is most advantageous.
A central part of the webinar will be devoted to understanding the payslip. Through examples and practical simulations, participants will learn to clearly distinguish between net pay, gross pay and total employer cost, and to identify which items have the greatest impact on the management of campsites and holiday villages. The speakers will also present the most effective levers for optimising labour costs: social security incentives for 2025/2026, fringe benefits, corporate welfare schemes and performance-related bonuses, with guidance on how to choose the most suitable tools for different operational needs.
There will also be a focus on the most common mistakes that can lead to unexpected costs or disputes, especially during peak season: poorly structured management of shifts, holidays and overtime can have a significant impact on the economic sustainability of a business. The webinar will offer practical suggestions to help avoid these critical issues.
The overall objective of the event is to encourage a shift from passive administration to a more proactive and strategic approach to labour costs, transforming the payslip from a mere compliance exercise into a tool for planning and control. The session will conclude with a Q&A segment to clarify specific questions and discuss real cases, accompanied by an operational summary sheet highlighting the key points.
The webinar is a concrete opportunity to acquire tools that can be applied immediately and to improve the efficiency of staff management. The initiative is reserved exclusively for FAITA members.
