Bruno Garancher has been unanimously elected as the new president of the French Federation of Camping and Caravanning (FFCC), succeeding Jacques Bourdon who chose not to run for re-election. “Thanks to my colleagues on the Board of Directors and the headquarters staff, I took great pleasure in presiding over our Federation,” he stated. “I tried to carry out my task with enthusiasm, devoting all the time I could spare. However, being very busy professionally, I preferred to hand over the position of FFCC president to one of our vice-presidents, Bruno Garancher, who is more available than me. I will remain very present within the Federation holding the position of vice-president.”

Bruno Garancher is a young retiree who remains very active, having served as a leader in businesses and structures of the social economy. He spent 23 years at the SCOP ECF CERCA (cooperative and participatory company of the French Driving School/Cooperative of Road Education of the Atlantic Center), where he chaired the board of directors for 8 years. He then took over as president of the French Driving School Association, a network of 160 companies operating driving schools and vocational training centers in France. Today, he heads a professional union, the National Inter-Union of Driving Instructors (UNIDEC).

Originally from Deux-Sèvres, Garancher has always been an enthusiastic camper and is particularly attached to this form of social tourism. He has spent all his vacations camping since he was a young boy. For several years now, he has been a motorhome owner and is well-versed in the world of associations. He is very knowledgeable about everything related to outdoor tourism, whether it be in a tent, caravan, motorhome, or mobile home.

With his team, he aims to set new directions by providing members with new services and defining objectives to meet the expectations of current and future members. Established in 1938 and recognized as a public utility in 1973, the FFCC represents approximately 6 million tourists who use outdoor accommodations such as campers, caravaners, motorhome owners, and users of mobile homes, chalets, and bungalows which they own or rent.
