Outdoor holidays in Spain have not disappointed expectations. The campsite sector has in fact registered another very positive summer, confirming the forecasts made at the beginning of the season by the Spanish Campsite Federation (FEEC), which indicated average occupancy close to 90% during the summer months. This forecast was also supported by the trend in advance bookings, which were already up 10% compared with 2025.

And expectations have been met: between July and August, Spanish campsites recorded average occupancy close to 90%, a result that confirms travellers’ growing interest in outdoor holidays and in an experience in contact with nature.

Demand was driven above all by bungalows, which came close to being fully booked, reaching occupancy levels close to 100%. Pitches also recorded high demand, with occupancy close to 80%, confirming the interest of those who choose to travel with motorhomes, caravans, campervans and tents.

Good prospects for September too

With the peak summer months now over, attention is turning to September, with equally positive prospects. Milder weather, together with fewer tourists, makes this period particularly attractive for those wishing to enjoy a few more days of holiday, taking advantage of quieter destinations.

According to the FEEC, there are therefore good occupancy prospects for September too, a result that forms part of the Federation’s seasonal adjustment strategy aimed at extending the campsites’ tourist season beyond the traditional months of July and August.

September is becoming an increasingly important month for our campsites. The aim is to continue offering an attractive proposition throughout the year and make the most of the potential of our destinations to generate tourism activity in a more balanced way”, said Ana Beriain, President of the Spanish Campsite Federation.
