Camping.care, one of Europe’s leading companies specializing in online software solutions for the camping sector, has announced a new partnership with Orbitur Camping Group, the largest chain of campsites in Portugal.
Founded in 1960, Orbitur currently operates 21 campsites and several other accommodation facilities across the country, in locations of exceptional natural beauty, from the coast to protected natural areas. To stay competitive and meet evolving market demands, Orbitur has chosen to invest in digitalization, selecting Camping.care as the ideal partner for its Property Management System (PMS) to make campsite operations more efficient, modern, and integrated.
Camping.care is a key European player in the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) sector: a fully online solution, accessible via subscription, requiring no local installations. The cloud-based system is always up-to-date and can be accessed from any internet-connected device, simplifying technological management for campsites.
The platform is specifically designed for campsites and holiday villages, allowing centralized management of bookings, pitches and accommodations, payments, guest communication, and integration with other digital tools – enhancing both internal organization and the overall guest experience.
“We are proud to have Orbitur’s trust and look forward to the cooperation,” said Roel Masselink, founder of Camping.care. “We already have experience in Portugal, and this further strengthens our position in the country”.
More efficient processes, more time for guests
By adopting Camping.care’s advanced API-first PMS, Orbitur will simplify and speed up daily reception tasks such as check-ins, bookings, and guest management. This will allow staff to spend less time on administrative duties and more time on guest care, improving service quality and the overall guest experience.
The partnership will focus on streamlining campsite management in several key areas: more efficient internal operations for staff and management (backoffice), enhanced online visibility and availability across sales channels (channel management), faster and smoother booking workflows, greater automation of administrative tasks such as reporting and accounting, and coordinated management of multiple sites within the same group (multisite functionality).
“The choice of Camping.care represents a significant step forward in our commitment to modernising our operations and increasing the value we offer our guests,” said Beatriz Santos, member of Orbitur’s Executive Committee. “The system’s reputation for its excellent user interface and cloud-native capabilities aligns perfectly with our goal of building a seamless, digital-first experience for all our visitors”.
