How much does a camping holiday in Europe cost today? An overview is provided by the booking platform Camping.info, which has analysed overnight prices in around 20,000 open-air facilities across the continent, outlining an updated picture of average costs in 34 countries for 2026.
The survey shows that a night for two people – including a pitch, caravan, electricity and local tax – can vary significantly: prices range from an average of €14.38 up to €41.26, with an overall increase of 3.49% compared to last year. Croatia is the most expensive destination, at €41.26 per night, followed by Italy (€41.21).
Despite the rise, camping continues to represent a competitive holiday option. This is highlighted by Maximilian Möhrle, Managing Director of Camping.info, who suggests some strategies to keep costs under control: choosing less crowded destinations away from major tourist flows and making use of tools such as discount cards and dedicated programmes. Camping remains, in fact, a formula with an excellent value for money, especially for those who plan their holiday carefully.
