Campingnavigator, a Dutch company specializing in the promotion of open-air accommodation facilities in the Netherlands, is proposing an important expansion this year: while the campingnavigator.com site continues to focus in particular on the “backers” of the season, kids-campings.com is aimed to families with children – who go on holiday mostly in June, July, and August – and glamping.nl focuses exclusively on luxury accommodation.
With these three websites, Campingnavigator now offers a complete range of solutions thanks to which campsites can count on a promotion for Dutch, and increasingly also German, guests throughout the season.
Peter Doornekamp, who has been the driving force behind Campingnavigator since 2007, is very satisfied with the expansion that began last year with the merger with Travelmark: “With these first new products, we offer a range of services that potentially involve every campsite, from start to finish And now that the average temperatures of the first and last months still make camping pleasant, there is a clear tendency to lengthen the season“.

For the promotion of campsites affiliated with Campingnavigator this is an opportunity. Furthermore, the extension of the season creates new occupational spaces. “It is also for this reason that campsites regularly ask us if we can help them with some extra promotions for the latest openings,” explains Doornekamp. “And this also applies to the month of June. We know that as a campsite, but also as a group, they have to constantly investing in themselves and in their products. Not only in the structure, land ,and accommodation, but also in the brand. And this is where Campingnavigator’s strength lies“.
In a world where all marketers focus mainly on commissions and bookings, Campingnavigator remains faithful to its strategy that has always distinguished it: “We are particularly good at presenting campsites to our audience,” says Doornekamp. “Whether it’s our websites, social media, newsletters, or camping fairs, we remain basically a publisher. And if we keep creating good content, we will always have visitors. Content, content, content: that’s our job. And in my opinion, a campsite or group should above all take care of their reservations as directly as possible, on their own website“.

With the new websites, the company’s social media channels were immediately expanded, adding to more traditional solutions. “Even as a publishing company we must continue to invest in new developments. In addition to the social media of Campingnavigator and Kids-Campings, we have added our online magazine Ontdeck as a supplementary product, which is very successful. We must always be able to find the forms where our content gets the best results for campsites.“
All this commitment comes from a real passion for the world of camping. “Yes, we really have camping in our blood,” Doornekamp confirms. “You can find it in our text, photos, articles, blogs, and everything we do. And I think that makes a difference, in the long run.“
