Riccardo Viroli, CEO & Co-Founder of CampingVillage.Travel, the company that gave life to the CampingVillage.Marketing project, told Camping Business what he thought for the public of TTG Travel Experience, the reference Italian event for the promotion of tourism at world, and of the contextual InOut | The contract community. In the Open Air Arena space, within SIA Hospitality Design, of which Camping Business is a media partner, Viroli will hold two seminars on Thursday, October 12th.
The key themes of the meetings will be:
- What to expect from the new frontiers of the social media marketing world. Instructions for making the most of the new algorithms
- From imagination to reality: how to bring out the uniqueness of the camping village
New frontiers of social media marketing and accommodation facilities
Riccardo Viroli’s first speech will be on Thursday, October 12th from 1pm to 2pm. At the heart of the seminar there are two questions: what to expect from the new frontiers of the social media marketing world? What are the new communication habits on social media for the accommodation facility?
Being updated on the latest developments in social media channels is essential for developing social media marketing strategies dedicated to different types of customers. Travelers’ habits change, their interests change, their search awareness changes. All this inevitably leads social platforms to change their algorithms. As a result, the best practices for using different tools are no longer the same. The seminar tells how to evolve your social strategy in step with these changes.
A question of touch points
“The many changes affecting social channels influence and are influenced by consumer habits, explains Viroli. “Today, it is important to know that there are many touch points with customers, and that even if the direct conversion rate from social network platforms has decreased compared to the past, tourists also get information on social media and often start from there to delve deeper into the discovery of a structure. We therefore need to know how to best ride the new trends. Some of the advice I will give is simple, such as favouring simple images without filters, while other aspects of the seminar are more complex. For example, we will also talk about artificial intelligence».
Bring out the uniqueness of each camping village
The seminar “From imagination to reality: how to bring out the uniqueness of the camping village” will also be held on Thursday, October 12th, from 3.30pm to 4.30pm. “In a very varied market like the tourism one, open-air tourism boasts a rather limited quantity of structures: we are talking about 3,111 structures registered against the 33,000 hotels in the area,” underlines Viroli. “And this from a certain point of view is a good thing, just as it is positive that this type of outdoor structures is very different from others and meet holiday needs with very specific characteristics. Today, especially in the post-Covid era, consumers are very attentive to their needs, already in the early selection stages, and aware of what they will find when they arrive at the facility. Hand in hand with this greater degree of awareness among tourists, the methods of communication with customers, both acquired and potential, have changed and must further evolve. To give a very simple example, today even those who are not accustomed to social networks instantly notice if the photo chosen to describe the structure is a stock photo”.
Some concrete advice
Viroli recommends bringing out the real strengths of the campsite or tourist village, for example by organising a photo shoot. Even better, you can use quick videos that tell in images the most interesting aspects of a holiday in that particular facility. Among the suggestions that the CEO of CampingVillage.Marketing will give in Rimini, is also to ensure that the website and all online communication are “mobile first”. During his speech, Viroli will talk about the main sector trends and give concrete advice, supported by successful case histories. Furthermore, it will offer some practical tools to optimise your marketing budget.
TTG Travel Experience and InOut | The contract community will be both held from October 11th to 13th at the Rimini exhibition centre.
