European Camping Group (ECG), one of Europe’s leading outdoor hospitality operators, has unveiled the winners of its ECG Top European Campsites Awards 2026, recognising the campsites that achieved the highest levels of guest satisfaction during the 2025 season.
The group, which operates around 50,000 mobile homes across 451 campsites in 12 European countries, based the awards on the ratings submitted by approximately four million guests following their holidays, while also taking into account the scale of its commercial relationship with each campsite. For the 2026 edition, particular attention was given to larger campsites.
Italy is the most represented country in this year’s ranking, with five campsites receiving the award: Camping Cisano San Vito, Camping Pra’ delle Torri, Hu Park Albatros Village, Marina di Venezia Camping Village and Union Lido Mare. According to ECG, this result reflects the consistently high standards achieved by Italy’s outdoor hospitality sector, particularly among large-scale campsites capable of combining extensive facilities with a high-quality guest experience.
Croatia also secured significant recognition, with two campsites making the European ranking: Camping Bijela Uvala and Valamar Camping Lanterna. In announcing the awards, ECG highlighted that the result also acknowledges the substantial investments made in recent years by Croatia’s leading tourism operators to enhance the quality of their camping offer.
France is represented by Les Ormes Domaine & Resort and Les Méditerranées Beach Garden, while the Netherlands is represented by Holiday Park Duinrell. Spain completes the list with Playa Montroig Camping Resort. Present in the Spanish market for more than 40 years, ECG praised the country’s continued expansion of its tourism offering and its consistently strong value-for-money proposition, which it considers among the most competitive in Europe.
Explaining why 11 campsites were recognised instead of the planned 10, Philippe de Trémiolles, Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of European Camping Group, said: “We had tied winners in tenth place, so we decided to present 11 awards. Life is imperfect, which makes it even nicer”.
The strong representation of Italian campsites once again underlines the country’s leading position within the European outdoor hospitality sector, while the awards provide an insight into the destinations that achieved the highest levels of guest satisfaction among the four million holidaymakers welcomed by European Camping Group during the 2025 season.
