Improve the protection of businesses and expand the range of assistance and advice offered to members. With this goal, the Italian FAITA-FederCamping and Federalberghi, which represent the open-air accommodation facilities and hotels respectively, have signed a memorandum of understanding committing themselves to daily collaboration.
The agreement also provides for the implementation of special projects, with particular attention to the dissemination of good practices in the field of accessibility, sustainability, and digitalization, to the continuous training of workers and entrepreneurs, and to the connection between companies and the education system for technical and professional training.
The two federations boast a by now historical relationship of collaboration, given that already in 1979 they jointly stipulated the CCNL (Collective Agreement) for Tourism sector. In 1991 they were among the founding members of the National Bilateral Agency of the Tourism sector (EBNT) and in 2013 they established the Supplementary Health Care Fund for employees of companies in the Tourism sector (FAST). Starting from April 2022, FAITA and Federalberghi will share the same headquarters.
“With this new agreement,” emphasizes Bernabò Bocca, president of Federalberghi, “companies will have more effective and incisive tools at their disposal for relaunching the offer. Furthermore, it will be possible to increase the quality of the services provided to customers, in order to help the tourism sector to emerge from a phase of profound crisis generated by the effects of the pandemic“.
Alberto Granzotto, president of FAITA-FederCamping, points out that “we start from the primary needs of entrepreneurs for an effective and rapid relaunch of Italian tourism, whose focus is on hospitality and whose businesses are entitled to careful and specific dialogue“.
The Italian hospitality system produces an added value of over €27 billion every year. Hotels and campsites constitute the backbone, accounting for 69.2% of the accommodation capacity (3.6 million beds out of a total of 5.2), in which approximately 350 million overnight stays are hosted each year (80% of a total of 436.7 million) and 375,000 employees work.
