The Italian Minister of Tourism Massimo Garavaglia has signed the decrees – Tourism August 2021 and Caves 2021 – which unlock over € 400 million for companies in the tourism sector. The contributions for travel agencies and tour operators, tourist guides and tour leaders, open-top buses, entertainment agencies and bodies managing speleological sites and caves, but, above all, those intended for tourism accommodation facilities, finally arrive.
As FAITA-FederCamping explains, the issue of the August 2021 Tourism Decree represents a further fundamental government act in favor of the tourism sector most penalized by the two-year Corona pandemic. For the Federation it is undoubtedly positive that about € 200 million have been allocated to tourist-accommodation companies and that these include open air structures that come immediately after, in importance, to hotels. This thanks to the inclusion, among the beneficiary activities, of those referred to in the ATECO code 55.20 and 55.30, as required by Art. 6 (Beneficiaries, requirements, and determination of the contribution in favor of tourist-accommodation companies) of the decree.
“Beyond the total amount allocated, € 270 million constitute an absolute record for the sector”, says Alberto Granzotto, President of FAITA-FederCamping. “The efforts made by Minister Garavaglia and his technicians to guarantee the operators of the tourism supply chain the necessary resources to plan the recovery and relaunch of the national tourism sector in a short time and in a certain way is to be appreciated”.
