The 11th financing round launched by Falkensteiner Michaeler Tourism Group (FMTG) on its digital investment platform FMTG Invest has closed with a collection of €14.8 million. This achievement, realized in less than 8 weeks, underscores the significant interest investors have in the business model and projects of the Austrian group in the hospitality and travel sector—a sector experiencing growth in contrast to the general real estate trend.

What began as a bold attempt six years ago has evolved into a serious alternative investment opportunity in the hospitality sector, enabling us to generate a total of €65 million to date for our future projects,” stated Otmar Michaeler, CEO of FMTG.

The success of the fundraising reflects the high level of trust the group enjoys among investors. “Of the €3.4 million deposited in September 2023, 64% of investors immediately reinvested the same amount or more, affirmed Anne Aubrunner, director of FMTG Invest. Notably, this recent round attracted a higher-than-average number of new investors, with 47% of the funding coming from new participants.

The funds raised will be deployed in two directions: firstly, financing key projects of the group, such as a 5-star hotel in Montafon, the Falkensteiner Park Resort Lake Garda in Salò, and the development of a 5-star premium hotel in Licata, Sicily; secondly, supporting the launch of the new FMTG-branded camping facilities in Austria.

These projects align with current market trends, where there is a growing demand for 5-star hotels and serviced apartments (including Falkensteiner’s Premium Living Apartments). Additionally, premium campsites are gaining popularity, sought after for the opportunity to experience a vacation in nature with high-end services.
