Scheduled from March 18th to 24th, the second edition of the Semaine des métiers du tourisme aims to promote tourism professions. The initiative – organized by the DGE (Direction Générale des Entreprises) – aims to bring together tourism professionals with young people and job seekers.

The tourism industry thus opens its doors and, through hundreds of events taking place throughout French territoryduring the month of March, seeks to reach the largest number of people interested in discovering the wide variety of professions and training courses available.

Company visits, open days, job dating, workshops, and conferences are organized to attract the workforce to a sector that has suffered significantly from labor shortages in recent years. A problem that is particularly worrying as the Paris Olympic Games approach this summer.

Last year, the event saw the organization of 1,339 events, but this second edition plans for over 2,200. A sign that there is great interest among industry operators in exploring every possible avenue to attract younger generations and find labor, especially for seasonal jobs in campsites.

The list of events and their location can be found on the dedicated website.
