Giorgio Palmucci leaves the presidency of ENIT, the Italian National Tourist Board. His posting, after his appointment in 2019, would have expired in September, but the tourism minister Massimo Garavaglia has wanted him as his advisor right now.
“I want to thank Giorgio Palmucci for the excellent work he has done in recent years, despite the difficult and complex situation both in Italy and abroad, especially for tourism,” commented Garavaglia. “Precisely for this reason I think it is essential that his successful experience remains available to me and to the tourism movement in Italy, from promotion to hospitality“.
“I am grateful for the opportunity I have had to work alongside experienced professionals,” said Giorgio Palmucci. “I am sure that my successor designated by the minister will carry out the projects and values of the institution in the best possible way, together with the CEO Roberta Garibaldi, the director Sandro Pappalardo and all the extraordinary team of the Agency. This new assignment, which honors and fascinates me, will see me as always at the service of the country of its marvelous beauties“.
Now we wait to understand who will be nominated in place of Palmucci. In a few months, ENIT thus found itself revolutionizing its leadership, since Roberta Garibaldi, current CEO, took on this role only last October.
