The highly anticipated 2024 edition of Girocamping Pro, the specialized congress for the camping sector, is fast approaching. Scheduled for September 26th at the Civic Center in Sant Pere Pescador, Girona, the event promises to be a key gathering for industry professionals. Organized by the Girona Campsite Association, the congress will once again serve as a platform for discussing the latest trends, discovering new products and services, and forging new partnerships among tourism operators, accommodation providers, companies, and public administration officials.
The program includes debates on the evolution of the outdoor sector and roundtables on sustainability and digitalization. The 2024 edition will focus on the past, present, and future of camping. The congress will kick off with the presentation of the study “Camping: the history of campsites in Catalonia“, which examines the 70-year history of the sector, highlighting how it has evolved in response to social and economic changes. This retrospective and analysis of the current landscape will provide a foundation for reflecting on future challenges and opportunities, guiding operators in their decisions for continued growth.
The program also features the presentation of the study “Economic impact of the camping sector in the counties of Girona”, followed by a roundtable on green tourism: “Green vacations: beyond sustainable certifications”, and another focused on the “Smart Camp” project.
The day will conclude with the “Night of Girona campsites,” featuring a dinner and awards ceremony at the Camping & Bungalow Resort & Spa La Ballena Alegre in Sant Pere Pescador.
