Huttopia, a leader in the nature-camping sector, continues its expansion path thanks to a significant new investment from Crédit Agricole. The banking group has subscribed to a 13 million capital increase, confirming and reinforcing the partnership initiated in 2017 with Huttopia through Crédit Agricole Régions Investissement (Carvest).

This new capital injection also involves other investment structures of Carvest, as well as Sofipaca, a subsidiary of the regional banks Alpes Provence and Provence Côte d’Azur, and Crédit Agricole Alpes Développement (C2AD), a subsidiary of the regional banks of Crédit Agricole des Savoie and Sud Rhône Alpes.

Growth in numbers

Founded in 1999 by the Bossanne family, Huttopia currently manages over 130 sites across 9 countries (under the Huttopia, CityKamp, and OnlyCamp brands), promoting sustainable tourism that respects the environment and enhances local territories. In 2023, Huttopia achieved a turnover of 113 million in the hospitality sector and €50 million in the industrial sector, with a workforce of up to 1,800 employees during the summer season and 700 in winter.

Philippe and Céline Bossanne, founders of the company, emphasized the importance of the partnership with Crédit Agricole for the company’s future: “We are very happy to consolidate our collaboration with Crédit Agricole, which remains the sole financial partner in Huttopia’s capital.” The Bossanne family and their 67 employee-shareholders continue to control 80% of Huttopia’s capital, driving the development of the Huttopia project both in France and internationally.

Mikael Brelot, a representative of Crédit Agricole, also expressed satisfaction with the collaboration: “We are thrilled to support Huttopia in its growth. Our investment will further develop this integrated ecotourism model, enhancing territories and promoting sustainable tourism.”

25 years after its foundation, the group continues its mission and, thanks to the new capital provided by Crédit Agricole, strengthens its position as a leader in the nature-camping sector.
