PiNCAMP Awards 2026 nominees revealed: Europe’s outdoor excellence heads to Stuttgart

The campsites shortlisted for the prestigious PiNCAMP Awards 2026 have now been officially announced. Selected by an international jury of ten industry experts, the finalists were chosen from hundreds of submissions across Europe, with nominees representing Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Croatia, the Netherlands, Denmark and Austria.

Presented by PiNCAMP – the organisation bringing together the motoring clubs ADAC, ANWB and TCS – the awards recognise campsites that stand out for quality and strategic vision. Uwe Frers, CEO of PiNCAMP, reiterated the significance of the accolade, likening its importance to the outdoor hospitality industry to that of the Oscars in cinema.

The winners will be unveiled at the PiNCAMP Gala on 16 January 2026 in Stuttgart. Below is a detailed overview of the nominations across the three categories: Sustainability and Environmental Awareness, Innovation and Progress, and Rental Accommodation.

Innovation and progress

This category rewards the most forward-looking solutions in design and services.

• Union Lido Mare (Italy) – The Cavallino-Treporti resort marks its 70th anniversary with the Speedy Island project: an innovative water park whose centrepiece is the Body River, a body-rafting attraction inspired by canyoning, combining rapids and pools. The facility stands out for its energy self-sufficiency, ensured by around 650 solar panels, and for the use of recycled and certified materials.
• Feddet Strand Resort (Denmark) – The Danish campsite redefines the concept of space with its new “Leading” pitch. Covering 600 square metres, it offers a private spa, kitchen, bathroom facilities and a 400-square-metre screened lounge area, delivering maximum privacy and comfort.
• Tamarit Beach Resort (Spain) – The Spanish nomination is based on advanced digitalisation. The resort has implemented Artificial Intelligence systems to optimise operations and customer service, alongside a virtual reality (VR) room that allows guests to plan activities during their stay.

Sustainability and environmental awareness

Dedicated to the green economy, this category highlights campsites that have embedded environmental protection into their business models.

• De Lemeler Esch Natuurcamping (Netherlands) – Located in Overijssel, the campsite integrates agriculture with hospitality. Key innovations include compost-based heating (a biomeiler) for the swimming pool and the creation of biodiversity areas planted with native flora to enhance both privacy and the visual experience for guests.
• Camping Bretagne Les Embruns (France) – A green oasis with more than 8,000 planted plant species. The campsite focuses on zero-mile catering, in-house production of honey and cider, and circular economy practices such as reusing pool water to clean pathways.
• Camp Kovačine (Croatia) – Situated on the island of Cres, the campsite meets its energy needs through an on-site solar system and heat pumps. Strong commitments include a plastic-free policy and the circular economy initiative “Take it or leave it” Recycling House, active since summer 2025 and designed for the exchange of everyday items.

Rental accommodation

This category explores new frontiers in design and architecture applied to glamping and mobile homes.

• Destinature Dorf Hitzacker (Germany) – Offers “plug-and-live” accommodation based on the modular Werkhaus interlocking system. Ranging from travel beds to “Hut Plus” units, the structures are designed for rapid assembly and a minimal ecological footprint.
• Camping Resort Sanguli Salou (Spain) – With the África Bay project, the resort delivers a fully immersive themed experience. Accommodation includes the Sukuma Garden, featuring a private terrace and outdoor shower, and the Grand Bay Tents, set within a meticulously curated ecosystem – from vegetation to gastronomy.
• Ferienparadies Natterer See (Austria) – The Secret Koi Garden marks a new chapter in Alpine luxury. Eight Lushna Petite cabins, designed with koi-scale-inspired forms and large panoramic windows, are arranged around a pond to ensure complete immersion in the Tyrolean natural landscape.

The winners will be announced on 16 January 2026 in Stuttgart, during the CMT trade fair.
