Commitment to sustainable tourism is one of the priorities of the French group Sandaya, specializing in 4- and 5-star campsites. For this reason, the majority of the brand’s facilities have already obtained the Clef Verte environmental certification. The latest to join the list of virtuous ones is Cypsela Resort, a 4-star Spanish campsite located in Pals, on the Costa Brava (Catalonia). The facility, among other things, is the first to earn this label in Spain.
Developed in France since 1998, the Clef Verte label is indeed the main eco-label for tourist facilities in France, but it is also present in 60 other countries, on 5 continents, where it is called Green Key. The criteria for obtaining certification are established internationally by the Foundation for Environmental Education and revised every 4 years to take account of technological progress and environmental issues.
The certification obtained guarantees Cypsela Resort customers to stay in an eco-responsible campsite that has adopted effective solutions to reduce environmental impact. Thus, for example, attention to water consumption, waste sorting, and the purchase of ecological cleaning products are all fundamental aspects of the campsite’s responsible management.
Cypsela Resort also has electric car charging stations, solar thermal panels on sanitary blocks, native plant vegetation, and a vegetable and herb garden. Sandaya demonstrates its commitment to being at the forefront of sustainable tourism development.
