Taiga Campings & Resorts continues to expand its presence in the domestic market with the addition of Taiga Costa Cálida, in Cartagena, to its portfolio of destinations. With this opening, the group reaches nine establishments across the Iberian Peninsula in less than two years since its inception, positioning itself as one of the key players in the transformation of Spain’s camping sector.

The new camping resort is located in a privileged natural setting, within the Parque Regional de la Sierra de la Muela, Cabo Tiñoso y Roldán and close to the beach, enabling it to establish itself as a benchmark destination for experiential tourism in south-east Spain. The property is already operating under the Taiga brand following a comprehensive transformation designed to align it with the group’s standards of quality, sustainability, design and guest experience.

Comprehensive refurbishment and eco-efficient model

Taiga Costa Cálida is the result of a full-scale refurbishment, encompassing the renovation of all accommodation units, the reorganisation of pitches and the upgrading of communal facilities. The project has been carried out in accordance with landscape integration criteria and respect for the surrounding environment, within a protected area of significant natural value.

The development model applied is based on lightweight and demountable structures, the removal of asphalted surfaces and a programme of renaturalisation, alongside the planting of native species and the use of sustainable materials. Through this intervention, the company further reinforces its commitment to responsible tourism that respects the natural environment.

Accommodation and pitches designed for relaxation

In line with the brand’s design and wellbeing principles, the accommodation units have been updated to prioritise privacy and landscape integration. They feature private terraces, fully equipped kitchens, air conditioning and full bathrooms, with capacities tailored to families, couples and groups of friends.

Meanwhile, the generously sized pitches are aimed at travellers touring Europe by caravan, motorhome and campervan. They offer upgraded electricity, water and drainage services, as well as access to the full range of the camping resort’s facilities.

Facilities and experiences connected to the territory

The property features two outdoor swimming pools for the summer season and a third heated pool operating year-round, all integrated into the surrounding landscape. The offer is complemented by children’s play areas, sports courts and entertainment programmes.

From an experiential perspective, Taiga Costa Cálida offers activities linked to its natural surroundings, including kayaking, diving, climbing, hiking and cycling routes, as well as guided experiences to explore coves and marine reserves.

Gastronomic offer and local collaboration

The transformation also includes a food and beverage concept based on local produce and Mediterranean cuisine, with two distinct venues: Cala Escondida Mediterranean Kitchen and the Italian restaurant Tramonti, the latter open all year round and offering views of both the sea and the mountains.

In line with its philosophy, Taiga Campings & Resorts collaborates with local businesses and guides to position the establishment as a gateway to the destination, promoting a sustainable tourism model that is closely connected to the territory.
