This year CampingVillage.Travel turns 10 years old in the outdoor tourism sector.<\/p>\n

Camping Business \u2013 This year CampingVillage.Travel turns 10. How has the initial project evolved?
\n<\/strong>Riccardo Viroli \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0So many things have changed since we started, perhaps a book would not be enough to go over them all. Many situations have changed due to market requirements, others as a result of our considerations on what was the best way to connect the tourist with the facility. Often we involved the facilities in a process of change, so that they understood with us what improvements to make. The principle that inspires us, however, is always the same, namely the desire to represent the most innovative portal<\/strong> in the sector for tourists and at the same time be of support to accommodation facilities in strategic terms of promotion and marketing.<\/p>\n

Camping Business \u2013 Since 2012, the way users search for campsites has been enriched with new sections and functions. What were the elements that led to this change?
\n<\/strong>Riccardo Viroli \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0At the basis of all developments in the CampingVillage.Travel network there is always data. Our added value continues to be the constant analysis and study of both customers and camping village owners<\/strong>. In the last 10 years, digitalization has soared, the massive use of smartphones has brought even the least inclined people closer together, also due to the period of isolation caused by Covid. We accommodated the requests of both tourists and facility owners, so that each of them had what they expected. We have been criticised in several contexts, especially regarding some of our choices, such as eliminating the banners. But then 12-15 months later this change was also made by other competitors because they too realised that the data showed that it was the right thing to do. The most important step was certainly taken when we realised that the tourist is no longer just looking for a place to stay, but a facility that welcomes him and meets all his needs<\/strong>. He is increasingly looking for a camping village that is as tailor-made as possible for the holiday he has in mind. This discovery gave rise to the thematic areas, guides and all the specific sections that today confirm (numbers in hand) that we are on the right track.<\/p>\n

Camping Business \u2013 CampingVillage.Travel has also given birth to CampingVillage.Marketing. Can you tell us more about this initiative and how it relates to the activities of the primary portal?
\n<\/strong>Riccardo Viroli \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0CampingVillage.Marketing<\/a> is the site par excellence dedicated to managers of open-air facilities<\/strong>. With the arrival of Silvia Canducci and the CampingVillage In-Formazione project staff, we have definitely done something that has never been done before in the en plein air<\/em> tourism sector. That is, to give information, statistics, practical marketing tips for the specific promotion and marketing of this market, and to update on market developments. Doing all this totally for the benefit of the facilities is something I am particularly proud of.<\/strong> We have constant positive feedback on the training we ‘give to the sector’. We do this thanks to an overall vision we have acquired of how important it is to help and train the sector, which has completely revolutionised over the last 5 years. In order to put this idea of training into practice, we needed to include it in a more comprehensive project that encompasses the book and the manuals, which is why CampingVillage.Marketing was born.<\/p>\n
