The Spanish Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism has financed the “Experiencias Turismo Espa\u00f1a” programme promoted by the Spanish Federation of Campsites (FEEC<\/a>) and the Spanish Confederation of Hotels and Tourist Accommodation (CEHAT<\/a>), with the aim of boosting the growth of Spanish campsites through seven different open-air tourism experiences inspired by the concepts of digital, sustainable, and inclusive tourism that inspire new travellers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The two phases of the ‘Experiencias Turismo Espa\u00f1a’ project<\/h4>\n

The project, in its first phase, involved the network of camping agents in Spain who, together with the two associations, identified seven tourism experiences to be developed and promoted in campsites in Spain: cycle tourism, active tourism, nature and rural tourism, cultural, food and wine, family and children’s, and blue water tourism<\/strong>. The objective is to make Spanish campsites as competitive as possible by focusing on the services and activities to be proposed to tourists. Specifically, the proposal includes guided visits to sites and monuments of tourist interest or to agri-food establishments<\/strong> where local products can be tasted, bicycle or walking itineraries to unique places, and outdoor experiences to observe the local flora and fauna.<\/p>\n

The next phase of the Experiencias Campings Espa\u00f1a project involves collaboration with the territories surrounding the campsites<\/strong>. The associations have, in fact, identified, with the network of agents, the companies to which they can connect in order to offer customers personalized camping experiences with a positive social impact on the neighbouring areas. Bringing together and consolidating the network of actors in the Spanish camping sector under the innovative umbrella of this project has fostered collaboration to achieve common goals. Moreover, thanks to Experiencias Campings Espa\u00f1a, accommodation owners will have new tools at their disposal to make their campsites more sustainable and inclusive, and will also receive training in this regard<\/strong>. Tourists, for their part, will have at their disposal a digital platform that will present the different experiences they can enjoy and, based on their choices, it will be possible to profile them and in the future offer increasingly personalised and detailed travel experiences according to their needs and requirements.<\/p>\n

Experiences to get to know the specificities of the different territories<\/h4>\n

The project experiences have been designed according to tourist segments of national interest such as wine tourism, family tourism, active tourism or gastronomy<\/strong>, among others. Each Campings Espa\u00f1a experience will be represented in three autonomous communities, with an inspiring story that will act as a common thread on a national scale. For example, a wine tourism experience will be launched in Spanish campsites, with an inspiring story on a national scale that connects with national and international tourists. This experience will be composed of at least three territorial experiences: the Wine Tourism Experience in campsites in La Rioja, the Wine Tourism Experience in campsites in Galicia and the Wine Tourism Experience in campsites in Extremadura<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
