This transitional period allows administrations to adjust their systems and processes to the updated data. For the <strong>hospitality and tourism sector<\/strong>, the primary innovation is the introduction of <strong>separate codes for activities that were previously grouped<\/strong> under the same ATECO classification.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This <a href=\"https:\/\/www.istat.it\/classificazione\/classificazione-delle-attivita-economiche-ateco\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ATECO codes<\/a> reorganization, following <a href=\"https:\/\/www.istat.it\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ISTAT<\/a>\u2019s last update in 2022, was necessary to <strong>better reflect the realities of a constantly evolving sector<\/strong>. Specifically, the new classification <strong>differentiates between campsites and areas equipped for recreational vehicles<\/strong>, acknowledging the unique characteristics of each activity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another newly introduced distinction <strong>separates bed and breakfasts from short-term rental properties<\/strong>, such as vacation homes and apartments. Additionally, <strong>a specific code has been assigned to marina resorts<\/strong>, a rapidly growing accommodation option. A special code has finally been created for the <strong>recreational vehicle<\/strong> <strong>segment<\/strong>. This is a very important result for the sector, achieved <strong>thanks to the strong efforts of Assocamp<\/strong>, which has been involved in several meetings with the statistical institute in recent months to find the right solution.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An up-to-date snapshot of economic activities<\/h4>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ATECO is the <strong>classification of economic activities<\/strong> adopted by ISTAT for statistical and administrative purposes (e.g., taxation). The new classification comprises <strong>3,257 codes<\/strong> and was developed by the ATECO Committee, which includes the Ministry of Tourism.
