On September 18 and 19, the post-season seminar of the Yelloh! Village group took place at Yelloh! Village Océan Breton in Lesconil (Finistère, France). The brand has been bringing together numerous open-air accommodations across France, Spain, and Portugal for over twenty years. After reviewing the recently concluded summer season (with the group already reporting a turnover exceeding 300 million euros), the seminar focused on a crucial aspect for the brand’s growth: technological innovation.
A significant part of the discussion was dedicated to the increasingly important role of artificial intelligence in the tourism industry. According to Etienne Page, Director of Yelloh! Village, investing in innovation is key to growing the group and providing customers with the best possible experiences. “Artificial intelligence,” he stated, “is a powerful tool that allows us to improve the digital customer experience and offer more personalized services. It also impacts the productivity of our reception teams, freeing up administrative time to focus more on the customer. Our goal is to use it to offer our guests an even more enjoyable and memorable stay.”
A tool to optimize sales
Yelloh! Village is already leveraging artificial intelligence in three different ways to optimize sales and advisory services to its affiliates. To improve the visibility and positioning of its campsites on digital platforms, for example, the group uses existing solutions to automatically create content, such as texts and image descriptions (generic artificial intelligence).
Through company-specific data-driven tools, Yelloh! Village also simplifies management and decision-making processes for operators, such as by forecasting sales and monitoring customer satisfaction (specialized artificial intelligence).
Lastly, in collaboration with its technology partners, the brand is exploring the development of its own artificial intelligence engine for an innovative approach to customer relations (proprietary artificial intelligence). Among the ideas currently in development is a product recommendation engine for booking agents, designed to guide customers during phone calls.
