Outdoor holidays will be the trend of summer 2020. Giovanni Cavalli, CEO of Club del Sole, is sure about this. He underlines how the data provided by the Tourism Observatories suggest that the Italian market will prefer large spaces surrounded by nature and never crowded. Cavalli was one of the speakers of the webinar that was held on Thursday, May 21st, on the occasion of Puerto Rico National Travel & Tourism Week 2020. His speech focused on the development strategy of Club del Sole for summer 2020: “At the beginning of 2020 the growth trend of the international holiday ‘en plein air’ was already around 13%,” he said. “Club del Sole has chosen to interpret this trend on the Italian market which, today more than ever, requires combining an evolved experience with the availability of large spaces never crowded and immersed in nature“.

Giovanni Cavalli is one of the leading international tourism and hotel industry experts, with professional experience in the United States, already at the helm of the Gardaland and Mirabilandia theme parks in Italy and PortAventura in Spain, Associate Professor of tourism marketing at the Faculty of Economics of the University Rovira i Virgili of Tarragona and today Italian leader of the outdoor holiday.

Club del Sole is the owner of 15 Italian camping villages located in six regions, for a total of 1 million square meters of open spaces in nature, equipped with mobile homes, bungalows and pitches. In the next 5 years, a further and significant development of the offer is planned, with the progressive opening of at least 2 new structures per year. The novelty of the 2020 season is the opening of the Desenzano Glam Village: an area of 50,000 square meters on the shore of Garda Lake, with 112 suites and apartments, a panoramic swimming pool, a beach and a private pier. Club del Sole closed 2019 with a consolidated turnover of 50 million euros (+14% compared to 2018) and with a total of 2 million presences, of which 65% with Italian origins.
