In Italy solidarity passes through the campsite

Tourism is, undoubtedly, one of the most affected sectors by this pandemic and camping is included. Trade associations are currently dealing with government in order to receive concrete help. Today, however, we want to talk about solidarity, since, in the last few days, the news report differently and that makes us proud once again of our sector.

Cavallino-Treporti welcomes doctors and keepers

«We give the doctors and keepers some relief. A week of vacation with us, guests of the community of Cavallino Treporti, the second Italian seaside city, in the accommodation made available, for free, by the local tourist system ».

With this statement, mayor Roberta Nesto addresses all health workers who, with their courage, have helped the Italian population affected by the coronavirus.

“These are thousands of accommodations that make this touristic place the first” plein air “destination in Europe – says the president of the Consorzio Parco Turistico di Cavallino-Treporti, Paolo Bertolini -. A natural environment, close to Venice, easy to reach. A sort of widespread village, with luxury structures, placed on a beach and protected by the lagoon. An unspoiled place, declared UNESCO World Heritage Site 30 years ago “.

«We have decided to witness the gratitude of our whole Community to the healthcare workers – says Francesco Berton, president of Assocamping – who are risking their life for us. What can we do? We give what we have: our hospitality ».

Emilia Romagna: Bungalows for healthcare personnel

In Emilia Romagna, also, an agreement signed between FAITA Federcamping and Ausl Ferrara makes the bungalows available to doctors and nurses involved in the health emergency until May 15th and possibly over.

“Our federation has signed an agreement with the Local Health Authority of Ferrara – explains Gianfranco Vitali, regional president and national delegate of the association of FAITA Federcamping Emilia Romagna – to make available, absolutely for free and voluntarily, the bungalows of the coast facilities to welcome the doctors and personnel who engaged in the emergency. We think that, rather than a money, it made sense to give an effective and prompt availability in terms of accommodation, especially for health personnel coming from outside the province in need of support close, for example, to our hospital in the Delta, where an anti Covid unit is located. ”

Other initiatives

These important initiatives are joined by others, such as Cesenatico Camping Village. The owner indeed, Terzo Martinetti, has decided to make his facility available to the healthcare personnel involved in the emergency, followed by ” Consorzio Camping & Natura Villages” which gathers 30 campsites and villages in Romagna, from the Lidi di Comacchio to Riccione. As soon as vacations will be possible again, each of the 30 villages will offer 5 weeks for free, either mobile homes or pitches, for a total of 150 weeks.

Commendable proposals that demonstrate once again how our sector is capable of solidarity and important actions.
