If from May 11th Croatian campsites could already theoretically be reopened, the lack of foreign tourism has put the brakes on many local operators. The local audience of campers covers in fact a very low percentage of outdoor holidays and the absence of foreigners does not make opening too early convenient. With the approach of June, however, something is moving and in the next few weeks four structures on the islands of Cres and Losjnj will open their doors for the 2020 season.
Jadranka Turizam manages the Cikat family campsite, the only one in Croatia to have an aqua park, the Slatina campsite, the Baldarin naturist campsite and the Bijar campsite. The first will open its doors on May 23rd while the other three will follow on May 29th. The four structures have a daily accommodation capacity for over 7,500 guests.
“While we were waiting for the ongoing situation with the coronavirus outbreak in the world to normalize, we constantly monitored the measures and recommendations of the competent health institutions, and worked on the implementation of all of the above in all our facilities,” writes the company on its website. “High standards of cleanliness that have been synonymous with all our campsites so far, have been further improved by even more efficient cleaning methods and procedures in all our sanitary facilities. We will disinfect all areas of sanitary units even more frequently and we have already implemented all measures and recommendations prescribed by the Croatian Institute of Public Health and the World Health Organization (WHO) in all facilities and amenities within the campsite”.
