In France, the local federation of campsites FNHPA (Fédération Nationale de l’Hôtellerie de Plein Air) is trying to support its members on a variety of fronts. After having developed a health protocol together with Unaparel (Union Nationale des Campings et des Parcs Résidentiels de Loisirs) following the suggestions of the Ministry of Health, the High Council for Public Health, professionals in the sector and trade unions, they started training sessions designed to help accommodation facilities manage the reception of guests in the best possible way during this health emergency.
At the start of the season, 1,500 people took part, with great satisfaction and above all with the awareness of being prepared for a crucial moment. FNHPA has supported the campsites by helping them find the most appropriate ways for an easier reception and to manage relationships to reassure customers and leave them a good impression.
Given the success of the first session, on 19 October 2020 a new cycle of online training will begin, reserved for professionals. There are four courses: Manager, for supervisors, with a module focusing in particular on the recruitment and retention of employees; Customer relations, for employees who are in direct contact with guests; Food hygiene in commercial catering, for businesses with restaurants; and Rethinking customer welcome and safety to manage the recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.
