As signals are multiplying across Europe indicating outdoor tourism as one of the most welcome solutions for Summer 2020, associations and companies have launched a massive promotional campaign for the recreational vehicle. In recent weeks several videos have appeared online, and sometimes on television, to push the motorhome lifestyle.
In Italy there are two associations that have moved in this direction: APC and Assocamp. The first has developed an institutional spot that presents the motorhome holiday as the opportunity to visit the most beautiful villages in Italy, go to the mountains or to the sea, as well as to decide how long to stay away and change the route when desired. “There is a place where you can experience the thrill of a holiday with home security. This place is called a camper,”is emphasized in the video. “Leave whenever you want and choose the route. Your bed, your bathroom, your kitchen only for you and your loved ones. Wherever you go, you will always have your protected space where you can find the safety of your things. Everything you need will be at your fingertips only for you, with the certainty of hygiene and cleanliness of the whole environment. You can live outdoors, away from the crowds, and close to the stars. You can go far, taking care of who you love, every day. Even your four-legged friend. Experience the thrill of leaving, the joy of discovering, the freedom to move. Make your holiday a unique experience. This summer brings home security on vacation. New, used or rented, choose this Summer choose the motorhome.”
APC has also created a specific website, www.sceglilcamper.it, from which it is possible to download a PDF guide of 30 pages which briefly explains why choosing a recreational vehicle and how to use it.
The concepts of security and freedom are also those chosen by Assocamp, which launched its video with the claim “With the motorhome you can” highlighting how we can regain what we have not been granted in the last few months “Freedom. Unforgettable moments. All of this is about to come back,” says the script. “We are directors and writers of our life. We love freedom, we want the tranquility of uncrowded places and we don’t give up on security. The motorhome offers us all this. Independence, serenity, traveling and rediscovering what we have been denied in this period. Safety is our home on wheels and for no reason we give it up. We will be able to enjoy fantastic moments. With the motorhome… you can“. Finally, the description of the video on YouTube says that “Assocamp dealers are waiting for you“.
At Promocamp the accelerator is driven by the concept of a holiday in freedom and in the open air. “We were happy, we were peaceful. But we’ll be back. Happiness is the same over time, you find it in all the things you love, because we are the authors of our life and memories make it complete,” says the spot. “We are the ones who write our time, and fate completes it. And nobody will be able to deny the memories. Italy restarts and we are ready to go back to experiencing travel, holiday, love, friendship, solidarity emotions. It is that we are in love with our life, our world, our holidays in freedom, however and in any way we do it. Because the holiday is beautiful for everyone, it is always beautiful”.
In France the initiative starts from UNI VIDL, the Union of Recreational Vehicles. His spot is an invitation to discover freedom, comfort and safety “As soon as you can leave, do it in a motorhome,” says the narrating voice. “Go and discover a new freedom. Go wherever you want with your family, with all the comfort on board, in total safety. Traveling in a motorhome, in a camper van or in an equipped van means enjoying your free time in your own home, anywhere. Yes, the motorhome is the best idea for true freedom”. The video ends with an invitation to reflect: “Have you thought about it?”. Beyond the Alps, the Rapido group also wanted to have their say, with a video that talks about “a new way to travel in total safety and in total serenity”.
Finally, for Germany, the powerful Caravaning Industrie Verband e V (CIVD) was activated, which created the website www.caravaning-info.de to promote the holiday with recreational vehicles. The spot that accompanies it is very simple: “You are still at home now, but soon you can go everywhere again. Plan your holiday with the Caravaning site“.
