After extensive modernisation work at several top campsites and with a strong digitalisation activity, LeadingCampings starts the summer season 2023. “The camping summer 2023 can come: we are well prepared to face the new season once again with great success,” says Simone Pokrandt, Managing Director of LeadingCampings of Europe. “The last winter months have been used by the vast majority of our members to further raise their profile in the luxury segment, in some cases with extensive modernisation and expansion measures“.
On the recently updated and redesigned website www.leadingcampings.com, the 38 luxury campsites in Europe present their new facilities with a range of leisure initiatives designed for target groups and first-class services, thus once again underlining their innovative strength as market leaders in the outdoor hospitality segment. The most important innovations offered by the LeadingCampings affiliated campsites concern the type of mobile homes and pitches, activities and theme parks, as well as new services related to the important topic of sustainability. Here they are in detail.
New luxury villas and mobile homes, XXL pitches in prime locations
New modern villas, top-quality holiday homes and spacious mobile homes, always built in the typical style of the country, are available from this summer at, for example, the top campsites Villaggio Turistico International in Bibione in Italy, Camping Čikat in Croatia, Turiscampo on the Algarve in Portugal, or Strandcamping Waging am See in Germany, which were recently awarded again by ADAC. At the famous 5-star campsite in the Bavarian Chiemgau, the famous Leading Pitches – exclusive pitches for caravans and Co. of 250 square metres in an absolutely prime location directly by the lake – are also available from this year for the first time. At the Barco Reale campsite in Tuscany, guests can count on a new, spacious mobile home area and, for the first time, a safari tent village with treehouse tents. Modern and luxuriously equipped holiday homes also await holidaymakers at L’Ocean Breton camp site in France and the Feriepark Hvidbjerg Strand.
XXL Playgrounds XXL, indoors and outdoors
“A slide and a swing don’t make a playground,” claims LeadingCampings, and indeed at affiliated campsites playgrounds are often varied and age-specific, adventure, sports, and fun areas with equipment and facilities that babies, toddlers, schoolchildren, and teenagers need for fun and variety. Particularly attractive are the playgrounds at Ocean Breton and the one at the South Sea camp on the Lueneburger Heath. Here, brave adventurers and sea thieves will find an indoor playground in the Piratenmotto. While the little ones run wild, parents can relax and enjoy a quiet glass of wine in the adjacent bistro or workout in the fitness room. At Camping De Paal in the Netherlands, there will be a 700 square metre indoor play area for the first time this summer. At the award-winning Zaton Holiday Resort in Croatia, children young and old will love playing in the new play area, directly on the beach, starting this summer. Sports enthusiasts at Natureparc Ardèchois in France can now test their skills on a padel court, giant trampolines, and a ninja.
Giant slide, educational farm, infinity pool
The icing on the cake is undoubtedly the extraordinary offers and special facilities that distinguish the campsites of LeadingCampings members. This year there are many: from the giant water slide at the Laguna Aqua Park in Union Lido/Italy to the school farm at L’Ocean Breton, first-class restaurants with inviting terraces, wellness facilities, yoga rooms, or the spectacular infinity pool at the Barco Reale campsite.
Sanitary facilities equipped to meet everyone’s needs
Gone are the days when campers often avoided visiting the sanitary facilities. At the luxury campsites of LeadingCampings they are always modern, clean and functional. The multi-award-winning Havelberge Camping and Holiday Park in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern goes a step further and sets new standards: from April 1st, campers will be able to use a three-storey multifunctional building built into the mountain. The lower and middle floors are both accessible at ground level, but all floors are of course connected by a lift. The middle floor contains the classic sanitary facilities. The novelty is the combined shower-washing cubicles, which allow complete personal hygiene without leaving the cubicle. On the first floor, families will also find a bathroom for small children, there is also a bathroom for guests with physical disabilities, while in the basement, there is a clean shower for dogs.
Sustainability and reduction of energy consumption
The reduction of energy consumption, environmental protection, and sustainability are equally important factors for LeadingCampings, which have been taken into account in the numerous modernisation measures. Thus, LeadingCampings is also preparing for the future in this area. The installation of photovoltaic systems, heat pumps for energy production, thermal insulation, LED lighting concepts, charging stations for electric cars, the provision of electric bicycles for hire, or the reforestation of open spaces are just a few examples. More information on all LeadingCampings and their innovations can be found on the recently redesigned website www.leadingcampings.com.
Digitisation strategy: new LeadingCampings website
The relaunch of the website is another milestone in the overall digitisation strategy that LeadingCampings will pursue this year under the leadership of Simone Pokrandt. “Leadingcampings.com is not simply an overview of our 38 top campsites in Europe. The new site aims to inspire and excite, to whet the appetite for luxury camping holidays, but also to provide useful advice on all aspects of holiday planning. The site presents itself as a mixture of an informative and entertaining travel magazine and a motivating search engine,” says the Managing Director of LeadingCampings. “We present the entire world of modern luxury camping holidays and experiences, from the first-class campground facilities to the different options guests have with LeadingCampings to enjoy their personal dream holiday. We want to inspire, to arouse the desire for a camping holiday, and to show how varied and high-quality it can be,” adds the camping expert.
Useful tips for users
On www.leadingcampings.com users can find various suggestions for planning their next holiday: they can choose which country they would like to spend their holiday in or which type of camping holiday they would like to take. He or she can decide whether to focus on activities such as rowing or cycling, whether it is a family holiday or a trip for couples, whether to plan a short trip or a long-term stay, or the type whether to focus on wellness or prefer a classic beach or pool holiday. Other questions the site will answer concern whether you can take your dog with you, whether the property is accessible to the disabled. And whether mobile homes can be rented, whether there are charging stations for electric cars or whether childcare is provided. The new website provides answers to these and many other questions, but it is more than just an “information portal”. The attractive and generous galleries and images convey the first impression and awaken the expectation of a luxury camping holiday.
New arrival: digital LeadingCard
For 2023, LeadingCampings plans to introduce the LeadingCard as a digital customer card. This is another innovative measure to make LeadingCampings even more digital for the future. The LeadingCard offers guests added value and attractive benefits. By making it available in digital format, a good amount of paper can be saved in the future and thus contribute to the sustainability of the environment. Furthermore, in the future it will be possible to provide guests with customised and individual offers from the LeadingCampings family in digital format.
