November 2020 sets a historic record in Germany: registrations reach 100,000 units for the first time

For the first time in just one year, more than 100,000 recreational vehicles have been registered in Germany. The German camper and caravan industry passed this historic milestone at the end of November. The numbers, at this time of this strange year, are significant and unexpected. New registrations of recreational vehicles have, first of all, increased by 28.6% compared to the previous year. In particular, the month of November shows a total of 5,973 vehicles, almost double (91.65%) compared to November 2019.

The caravan, after a difficult spring, is on the road to success

New registrations in the caravan segment also got pushed in a very positive way in November. In fact, the growth sets a 41.5%, with 1,450 vehicles sold. Overall, between January and November, 27.7680 new caravans were put into the market, 6.1% more than in the same period last year.

The motorhome sector seems unstoppable: over 100% growth

New month, new record: can be summarized like this the “crazy” 2020, the year of Covid and sanitary and production block for the motorhome market in Germany. In November, instead, new registrations in the segment doubled compared to the same month of the previous year, with an incredible 116.1%. 4,523 vehicles registered for the first time are a new record for the month of November. In 2020, 73,070 new motorhomes were placed on the market, a remarkable 39.9% more than the same period of 2019, which had already produced record results.
