PiNCAMP, the ADAC campsite portal, analyzed the usage behavior of German campers and then published the list of the 100 most loved campsites by Italians and the 50 most voted by Croats. Even in 2021, perhaps due to the protracted Covid-19, camping continues to be very popular, and Italy and Croatia are among the most popular holiday destinations for German campers.
“The demand in the camping sector continues to grow. For example, PiNCAMP.de views increased by 10% in 2021”, comments Uwe Frers, CEO of ADAC Camping. “Considering the scarce pitches available, we are seeing a rapid increase of requests for campsites that can be booked online. Online booking is now a decisive criterion when choosing a campsite”.
Croatia continues to be one of the most popular destinations for German campers. In fact, this year PiNCAMP publishes the Top 50 instead of the Top 25. There are many news. Among these we can point out a new frontrunner, namely the Omišalj campsite in the north of the island of Krk. The previous leaders, the Zaton Holiday Resort, moved into third place. The runner-up is the Aminess Maravea Camping Resort.
Italy is very famous and appreciated by German tourists. This year there is a real surprise to report in the Top 100 of Italian campsites: the new leader, the Tahiti Camping & Thermae Bungalow Park (Lido delle Nazioni in the province of Ferrara), climbs 20 positions and replaces Fornella Camping & Wellness Resort (S. Felice del Benaco in the province of Brescia), which this time lost some position. As before, however, campsites on the Venetian Adriatic are among the absolute favorites of German campers. In fact, in second place we find the Union Lido Vacanze in Cavallino-Treporti (Venice) and in third place the Marina di Venezia Camping Village, located in Punta Sabbioni in the province of Venice.
