Change of management at LeadingCampings of Europe, which in 2022 has set itself the goal of growing, addressing new target groups and expanding the glamping offer as well as further consolidating its reputation in the area of high quality camping. The implementation of these ambitious goals was entrusted to Simone Pokrandt who, from January 1, 2022, replaced the previous managing director Eicke Schüürmann. The latter, at his request and after 16 years of success, leaves the association, remaining as a consultant until March 31, 2022. In the future, he will work again as a freelancer, PR and marketing consultant.

LeadingCampings of Europe, by choosing Simone Pokrandt, has been awarded one of the leading international marketing and sales professionals in the European camping tourism industry. After many years as head of marketing & sales at Eurocamp and contracting manager at the European Camping Group, the manager has recently worked, demonstrating her deep know-how in the sector, as PiNCAMP market relations manager at ADAC Camping.

“I am very excited to continue driving the digital transformation at LeadingCampings of Europe in order to exploit the huge potential of the 37 top campsites and to meet the boom in demand for high-quality camping and glamping holidays with innovative offers and services”, says Simone Pokrandt.

“Simone Pokrandt is one of the leading managers in the european camping tourism industry and we are looking forward to benefiting from her profound industry expertise on an international basis”, emphasises Alessandro Sgaravatti, president of the board of directors and co-owner and CEO of Camping Union Lido, which is located in Cavallino-Treporti in Italy.

Founded in 1994, LeadingCampings of Europe currently includes 37 independent campsites in the 4- to 6-star category and in 10 European countries, which recorded more than 10 million overnight stays last year. Camping holidays are among the winners in the tourism sector, affected by the pandemic, regardless of whether tourists spend their free time outdoors in a tent, caravan or camper, or book comfortable glamping accommodation such as mobile homes, apartments, bungalows, tree houses, chalets, or hotel rooms.

Thanks to Eicke Schüürmann from Camping Business for the excellent cooperation and a wish that our paths meet again soon. And a welcome to Simone from all the editorial staff, a professional with whom we have already worked and who we are sure will make an exceptional contribution to the growth and development of LeadingCampings.
