The next edition of SUN Beach&Outdoor Style, the Italian Exhibition Group’s show dedicated to trends in seaside and outdoor tourism and of which Camping Business is a media partner, will be held from 14 to 16 October in the Rimini exhibition center. The novelty is that this year FAITA-Federcamping will populate one of the two arenas with a series of conferences to imagine the future of a sector that feeds the curiosity of internationally renowned interior designers.

FAITA-Federcamping, which represents the majority of Italian companies in the camping and village industry, has decided to accept the invitation to present the initiatives and activities introduced for the next season to the entrepreneurs and guests of the event.

In the press release announcing its presence at SUN Beach&Outdoor Style, FAITA-Federcamping also analyzes the seasonal trend of the sector. “The 2020 season is still in full swing for the 2,600 Italian open air facilities,” writes the association. “The consequences and limitations of the pandemic have strongly impacted arrivals and presences of the kind that engages campsites and tourist villages. The most negative factors were – the late reopening, with almost zero results in the months of April and May and a drastic reduction for June; as well as a drastic reduction in the arrivals of foreign guests. It should be remembered that in 2019 there were about 10 million arrivals, over 54% of them foreigners, for 69 million presences out of an offer of 1.3 million beds per day, for a turnover of 5 billion euros. with approximately 100,000 employees engaged in total. At the moment the estimates indicate a -30% between arrivals and presences, with significant reductions in turnover”.

However, according to FAITA-Federcamping there are positive signs. “Despite this”, the statement continues, “the sector reacts and actively looks at the positive results that have been registered. In fact, Italian guests are growing rapidly and all the structures, albeit with many difficulties, have reopened and maintained employment levels. On this basis, a series of initiatives have been launched aimed at guaranteeing a prompt recovery of this sector in a scenario that promises to be still very uncertain at least in terms of international tourist circulation.”

This is the calendar of events that will take place in the FAITA Camping Arena in pavilion D4 of the SUN Beach&Outdoor Style:

  • Wednesday October 14, 15:00/16:00: “The Italian open air: an inter-university research” – Preview presentation of the results of the research carried out for FAITA-FederCamping by four university centers in the fields of marketing, demand, offer and the regulatory framework.

In addition to the FAITA Camping Arena, to give visitors to SUN 2020 two examples of what glamping means at the highest levels, at the fair there will be two set-ups of real lounges in nature: the environments designed by two architects who have in glamping added a creative touch that gladly meets the demand for high quality materials, comfort and balance of the Italian public. Nisi Magnoni and Gian Paolo Venier, cosmopolitan designers, both with studios in Milan, give two interpretations of what it means to integrate hospitable and refined environments into nature that blend technology and beauty with sobriety.

As for all IEG trade fairs, the spaces of SUN Beach&Outdoor Style 2020 have been designed according to the #safebusiness protocol, which guarantees the participation in complete safety of exhibitors and visitors. From moving from hotels to the fair, from individual safety devices to constant sanitizing of environments, from dematerialized access tickets to “skip the line” apps for catering, up to the wardrobe with automatic cycle.

SUN Beach&Outdoor Style 2020 will be open from 10 to 18 on Wednesday and Thursday and from 10 to 17 on Friday October 16.
