2019 confirmed a solid success for the Club del Sole network, the largest Italian open air holiday network: consolidated turnover in the last year stood at 50 million euros (+ 14% compared to 2018), with 2 million presences of which 65% with Italian origins, more than 1,000 people employed and a four-year plan for the development and restyling of structures of over € 30 million.
Nine camping villages acquired in the last 3 years add up to the six structures already managed for a total of 15 camping sites, strategically located in Emilia Romagna, Lombardy, Veneto, Friuli, Tuscany and Abruzzo. However, these are not enough to stop the expansion of the network, so the company expects the progressive opening of at least two new structures per year over the next 5 years.
For 2020, Club del Sole intends to open up to the world of glamping, the trend of the outdoor holiday that promises a market in full development, with a volume of over 2 billion dollars in 2018 and growth forecasts more than doubled by 2025 .
In this context, the Desenzano Glam Village will be inaugurated in April, on Garda Lake shore, which will allow the company to explore this new frontier of tourism, thanks to high-level services and housing concepts, which combine maximum quality of hospitality and contact with nature.
The growth trend of the open air holiday at international level currently stands at 13% per year. According to a survey conducted by AYTM Market Research, 37% of respondents are interested in this type of holiday, a percentage that rises to 46% among those who have already experienced the experience of the basic camping village. 69% said they sought both contact with nature and high-level services.
“The trend is now rooted at an international level and the Italian market is also turning decisively in this direction – said Giovanni Cavalli, one of the leading international hotel and theme park experts, today on the board of Club del Sole – The promoter of this repositioning in terms of brand is the Managing Director Francesco Giondi, who entrusted me with the ambitious project of transforming Club del Sole into the holiday trend setter in experiential and advanced nature, in absolute respect for the roots of this company and the heritage of experience gained over the years “.
