With a short post on Linkedin, Arena Hospitality Group announced that it had reached the milestone of one millionth overnight stay in 2022 – between hotels and campsites – 20 days earlier than last year and 5 days earlier than the record year: 2019. The news comes after the report on the results of the first half had already highlighted the good performance of the current season. Total turnover increased by 303% on an annual basis, reaching HRK 226.8 million (just over € 30 million), or 85% of what was achieved in 2019. Campsites contributed with 29%, while three years ago they had stopped at 22%.

EBITDA amounted to HRK 6.4 million (around € 850,000), driven by growing commercial activities and public grants received in Germany. The net loss was instead HRK 88.2 million (€ 11.73 million), with an improvement of 15% on an annual basis.

The achievement of the millionth overnight in the Group’s accommodation facilities in Pula and Medulin proves that the successful performance has continued during the peak season,” the company commented on Linkedin. Underlining that the overall capacity is not however comparable to that of 2019 following investments made to improve the quality of various accommodation facilities, the Arena Group stated that most of the guests come from traditionally stronger markets (Germany, Austria, and Slovenia), while there is a significant increase in the share of British and Italian guests after two years of pandemic.
