The autumn season of sector fairs started with a Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf under the banner of optimism and good results from the public. During the 10 days of the German event, spread over 16 exhibition halls, 235,000 visitors were welcomed, thus confirming the success of the outdoor holidays.
“Despite a difficult economic environment, we have succeeded in reaching out to visitors with extremely high interest in this form of holiday and concrete intentions to buy,” summarized Erhard Wienkamp, Managing Director of Messe Düsseldorf. “Very striking was the excellent atmosphere during the entire duration of the fair, the connected passion for mobile leisure was noticeable at all times. Only Caravan Salon reflects the entire caravanning world with its great variety.”
In Parma everything is ready
For an event that is closing, another is ready to open its doors. In Parma, everything is ready for the inauguration of the Salone del Camper: the second European event in the sector will open on Saturday September 10. The numbers speak of over 300 exhibitors, 15 countries represented, 5 pavilions, 41 brands of recreational vehicle manufacturers, 4 thematic areas, approximately 100,000 square meters occupied.
Thanks to the increased interest in outdoor tourism, new opportunities are opening up for campsites and tourist villages. For this reason, FAITA-FederCamping, an association that represents over 2,300 open-air tourist accommodation companies in 18 Italian regions, has chosen the Salone del Camper as a partner fair for B2C, by entering into a strategic partnership.
The agreement between the two parties will also include the creation of training and entertainment events organized for the public and operators. The themes will obviously be those relating to open-air tourism, ranging from sustainability to nutrition (camper green and camper food), from outdoor activities to lifestyle (camper active and camper dress code), from experiential tourism to automotive (camper destination and camper product).
The comments of the protagonists
“The Salone del Camper at Fiere di Parma,” underlines Antonio Cellie, CEO of Fiere di Parma, “is the Italian and European marketplace for outdoor tourism, which in recent years has seen continuous growth, which has become structural. A dynamic phenomenon with a green vocation, which involves the entire tourism supply chain and creates wealth in the territories. The agreement signed with FAITA-FederCamping is part of a strategy for meeting the stakeholders of en plein air tourism“.
The objectives for Alberto Granzotto, President of FAITA-FederCamping, are clear: “The agreement reached with the Salone del Camper at Fiere di Parma,” he declares, “will allow our associates to meet the consumer in a dedicated space, where hospitality and the tourist product Italy offer, among the most requested in the world, will be presented. The high-quality standards of our companies deserve to be communicated and promoted in a fair context, such as the Salone del Camper, important and recognized at European level.”
“Our indicators,” finally underlines Ludovica Sanpaolesi, director of the APC Camper Producers Association that collaborates in the organization of the Motorhome Show, “say that open-air tourism finds its ideal fulfillment in the recreational vehicle. Motorcaravans and caravans are means that allow you to organize a free, safe holiday in contact with nature. The agreement with FAITA-FederCamping will favor the meeting between hospitality companies and manufacturers, essential for analyzing the market in the coming years“.
