HolaCamp, one of the emerging camping chains in Spain, continues to strengthen its presence in some of the country’s most sought-after outdoor tourism destinations. The company already manages several campsites in Catalonia and Galicia, but is now turning its attention to northern Spain with the goal of expanding its network and diversifying its offer to include coastal, inland, and mountain destinations.
A key step in this expansion strategy is the acquisition of a campsite in Asturias: HolaCamp La Franca, formerly known as Las Hortensias. The site covers three hectares and features 120 pitches, located on one of the region’s most iconic beaches. Looking ahead, HolaCamp confirms its growth plans and aims to reach 25 operating sites across Spain and Portugal within the next two years.
A €4 million investment plan
According to the company’s management, HolaCamp plans to invest around €4 million in the renovation of the La Franca campsite between 2026 and 2030, with the goal of raising the structure’s quality standards. The planned improvements include better zoning of the campsite, upgrades to existing infrastructures, and a comprehensive redesign of the spaces in order to offer guests a premium experience.
The choice of Asturias, an area experiencing strong growth in nature-based tourism, is no coincidence. The company noted that northern Spain is attracting increasing interest from travellers seeking authenticity, unspoiled natural landscapes, and milder summer temperatures. For HolaCamp, the region represents a strategic step in its expansion.
The company’s CEO and co-founder, Alfonso Leprevost, stated that La Franca marks a significant milestone in the chain’s expansion plan, and that the goal is to offer travellers year-round experiences while promoting sustainable and balanced tourism.
