Now in its fourth edition, World Camping Day will be celebrated, as tradition dictates, on 29 June, the feast day of Saints Peter and Paul. The choice is no coincidence, as João Alves Pereira, President of the FICC, recalls: “Paul was a tentmaker and, for his time, a world traveller. He therefore represents the spirit of campers around the world: practical, open-minded, adventurous and deeply connected to nature and humanity. His story reflects the very roots of what it means to live and travel freely, in harmony with the world”.
This year, World Camping Day will be celebrated in Karpfham-Bad Griesbach, in southern Germany, during the 96th FICC International Rally 2026, a key event bringing together campers, caravanners and motorhome enthusiasts from many countries.
Over the years, camping has grown significantly, establishing itself as a strategic sector for both economic and employment development, as well as a lifestyle shared by people from diverse cultures, united by the same vision of holidays: freedom, sustainability and direct contact with nature.
In this spirit, the FICC invites all its members, federations and friends of outdoor living to celebrate this day, through large events or simple moments of sharing, whether by a lake, in the heart of a forest or at their favourite campsite.
